DBSJは男女共同参画委員会を設けて，男女共同参画学協会連絡会にオブザーバ参加
するなど、
ジェンダーバイアスフリーな情報化社会の実現に向けて活動しています。

つきましては、下記の講演会が　IEEE/Women in Engineering　により開催されます
ので
ご案内します。ドイツの情報科学分野の若手女性研究者の　Dr. Sandra Zilles,
DFKI
(German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence)　がお話下さいます。

'Women in Computer Science in Germany -Obstacles and ways to overcome them'

In Germany, the percentage of women among engineers and engineering
students is still very low.
In this lecture we shall discuss
 - where this disproportion becomes apparent,
 - what may be the reasons for this disproportion, and
 - what are possible approaches for dealing with this problem.

The lecture will focus on the situation of women in computer science in
Germany, illustrated
by personal experiences as well as by a glimpse into statistical studies.

In particular, the current situation in Germany is compared to the
situation of women
in engineering in the former German Democratic Republic. A central thesis
of this lecture
is that the phenomena observed are not so much biological but rather
cultural in nature.
Correspondingly, a change of cultural habits is required for improving the
status of
women in engineering in Germany.
