URL: http://www.cse.unsw.com.au/~apwebwaim07/ Email: apwebwaim07 [at] cse.unsw.edu.au APWeb and WAIM are two leading international conferences on research, development and applications of Web technologies, database systems, information management and software engineering, with a focus on the Asia-Pacific region. Previous APWeb conferences were held in Beijing (1998), Hong Kong (1999), Xian (2000), Changsha (2001), Xian (2003), Hangzhou (2004), Shanghai (2005), and Harbin (2006); and previous WAIM conferences were held in Shanghai (2000), Xian (2001), Beijing (2002), Chengdu (2003), Dalian (2004), Hangzhou (2005), and Hong Kong (2006). In collaboration with ACM SIGMOD and the Database Society of China (DBSC), APWeb and WAIM will have a joint conference in 2007. This will be an associated conference of ACM SIGMOD/PODS 2007 (in Beijing, China), officially endorsed by SIGMOD and DBSC. APWeb/WAIM 2007 will be held two days after SIGMOD/PODS 2007, in the beautiful mountain area of Huang Shan (Yellow Mountains) -- the only dual World Heritage listed area in China for its astonishing natural beauty, and rich and well preserved culture. APWeb/WAIM 2007 will combine and enhance the traditions and the research topics of interest to the APWeb and WAIM communities. Awards for authors from China: The Chinese Database Society, APWeb and WAIM conferences will jointly provide awards to selected authors (who submitted to the APWeb/WAIM 2007) for partial support of attending SIGMOD 2007 and APWeb/WAIM 2007 conferences. Details (qualifications, application procedure, and selection criteria) will be posted on the conference web site. The research topics include but are not limited to the following areas: * Advanced application of databases * Biological and genome information systems * Content management * Data caching * Data mining and knowledge discovery * Data and information quality Control * Data grid * Data migration and integration * Deep Web * Digital libraries * Distributed and parallel Processing * Grid computing * Emerging Web techniques * Interoperability and heterogeneous systems * Information retrieval * Information security * Location-based services * Mobile computing and data management * Multidimensional databases and OLAP * Multimedia information systems * Parallel and distributed database systems * Peer-to-peer systems * Performance and benchmarking * Query processing and optimization * Semantic web and web ontology * Security, privacy and trust * Sensor networks * Service-oriented computing * Spatial and temporal databases * Stream data processing * Storage management and access methods * Web-based collaboration * Web-based database integration * Web community analysis * Web mining * Web search and meta-search * Web service and information management * Workflow and E-services * XML and semi-structured query processing * XML and semi-structured data management PUBLICATION and PAPER SUBMISSION The proceedings will be published by Springer-Verlag in the LNCS series (approval pending). APWeb/WAIM'07 invites papers describing original contributions in all fields of Web Management and WWW related research and applications. All submissions should be in English. Submission of a paper should be regarded as an undertaking that, should the paper be accepted, at least one author will attend the conference to present the work. Authors are required to submit a paper title and short abstract (about 100 words) before submitting the paper. Paper submission will be electronic through the APWeb/WAIM'07 Web site (http://www.cse.unsw.com.au/~apwebwaim07). Papers should be submitted in LNCS (Lecture Notes in Computer Science) format (style files are available at LNCS Authors Instructions) as PostScript or PDF files and may not exceed 12 pages. In addition, research papers will be blind reviewed (Details can be found at the conference website). Papers not conforming to the above requirements concerning format and length may be rejected without further consideration. Submission guidelines for industrial papers and panel and tutorial proposals will be posted shortly at the APWeb/WAIM'07 Web site. WORKSHOP, PANELS, TUTORIALS, INDUSTRY PRESENTATIONS AND DEMOS In addition to technical contributions, APWeb/WAIM'07 invites proposals for workshops, panels, tutorials, industry presentations/demos. For workshops, APWeb/WAIM'07 will provide administrative support for workshop room booking, registration, and publication. All papers accepted by APWeb/WAIM'07 workshops will be published in a combined volume of Lecturer Notes in Computer Science series published by Springer (pending approval).
