今年8月に東北大学で開催される IEEE R10−HTC (Humanitarian Techonology Conference)2013のCFPを転送いたします.
大震災から2年が経とうとしている現在,最先端のテクノロジーを災害対策・復旧に如何に役立てていくかを議論いたします.
米国やアジアの災害関連の研究をされている研究者により招待講演も計画中です.

情報サービス関連のセッションもありますので,
震災関連の研究をされている方にとりまして,絶好の発表の機会かと思われます.

興味のある方はぜひ投稿をご検討ください.

**Call for Papers : IEEE R10 ‐ HTC2013**

IEEE Region 10 Humanitarian Technology  Conference 2013
August 26‐29, 2013, Sendai, Japan
Lessons learned from Japan’s 2011 earthquake and other natural disasters around the world

R10‐HTC2013 Organizing Committee,   co‐sponsored by IEEE Humanitarian AdHoc Committee, Region10,   
and nine IEEE Sections all Japan  (Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Kansai, Nagoya, Sapporo, Sendai, Shikoku, Shinetsu, Tokyo)

On behalf of the HTC2013 organizing committee, we are honored to announce that the first
Humanitarian Technology Conference of IEEE Region 10 will be held in Sendai, Japan, in this
special period of the history, after the March 11, 2011 Earthquake. Although HTC2013 is a
Region 10 event, we welcome participants from all over the world.    Beside technical
sessions, we also plan many invited talks, tutorials, exhibits and a tour to the disaster‐stricken
area.
Following the conference theme of “Lessons learned from Japan’s 2011 earthquake and
other natural disasters around the world,” the technical papers and invited/tutorial tracks
will cover disaster‐related topics but also open to a wide range of topics:

I: Disaster‐related Topics:
1. Disaster Area Activities Earthquake and Tsunami Disasters, etc.   
2. Information Services for Big Disaster SNS, FM Radio, TV Broadcast, Alarm Distribution, 
    Search of lost people etc.
3. ICT Infrastructure  Sustainable NW, Wired/Mobile NW Under Sea Optical Cable, 
    Satellite Com. Internet Connection, Cloud Service for Disaster Recovery
4. Electric Energy Infrastructure Electrical Grid, Future Nuclear Plant, Battery Supply, 
    Natural Energy, etc.
5. Sensors and their Applications Data collected by Sensors, Application of Sensor Data etc.

Submission – Deadline is February 15, 2013
* All submissions should be written in English with a standard length of six (6) printed pages
(10‐point font) including figures.     
* Only PDF files are accepted for a paper review. Your submitted PDF file and registered EDAS
account of a paper must list the same author(s), title and abstract (minor wording
differences in the abstract are allowed). Papers in which the PDF and EDAS account do not
match the author(s), title, and/or abstract will be withdrawn by the Technical Program
Committee. Further instruction to authors is shown in the website.
* R10‐HTC2013 requires that each accepted paper be presented by one of the authors
in‐person at the conference site according to the schedule published. Any paper accepted
into the technical program, but not presented on‐site will be withdrawn from the official
proceedings archived on IEEE Xplore.
