*16TH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON COMPUTER COMMUNICATIONS AND NETWORKS (ICCCN2007)*
http://sa1.sice.umkc.edu/icccn2007 August 13 - 16, 2007 Turtle Bay Resort, Honolulu, Hawaii, USA *Call-for-Papers: Signal Processing for Communications Symposium* http://sa1.sice.umkc.edu/icccn2007/Signal_CFP.htmRecent communications evolution has opened up numerous exciting opportunities for signal processing research and development, and on the other hand, advances in Signal Processing also have been contributing significantly to the growing demand of heterogeneous applications in communications with an ultimate goal of “communicating with anyone, anytime, anywhere”.
The symposium focuses on recent advances in signal processing for communications (SPCOM). It aims to foster interaction of researchers and exchange new ideas by bringing together members of the signal processing, communications and information theory communities. The technical program of the symposium consists of regular papers and posters. We solicit original and unpublished research achievements in various aspects of SPCOM, including, but not limit to, the following topics:
• Acquisition, synchronization, and tracking • Channel modeling, estimation, equalization • Space-time signal processing • Smart antennas, MIMO systems, and space-time coding • Channel/Source coding, iterative decoding • Modulation and detection techniques • Multiuser systems, multiuser detection • Single-carrier, multi-carrier, and multi-rate systems • Cooperative communications and networking • Network coding • System capacity and performance analysis • Speech, image and video signal processing • Signal processing in ultra-wideband (UWB) communications • Signal processing in ad hoc, multi-hop, and sensor networks • Signal processing in power-line communications *Important dates:* Paper submission: March 1, 2007 Notification of acceptance: May 11, 2007 Camera ready papers due: June 1, 2007 *Symposium Co-chairs:* Z.
