いただきます.アラン・ケイ博士と直接ディスカッションできる貴重
な機会でございますので,論文投稿をよろしくご検討ください.

                         The Second International Conference on
         Creating, Connecting and Collaborating through Computing

Development of Knowledge Society Infrastructure, Kyoto University
                                     Viewpoints Research Institute
                            Communications Research Laboratory
                                   Kyoto Software Applications, Inc.


Together with network technologies, computer application area is expanding rapidly.
In the coming knowledge-based society use of computers for creation and
connection/collaboration among people is essential. This conference provides an international forum for technical discussion among researchers, developers and users of object-oriented computing (especially, Small Talk, Squeak and Croquet),
collaboration technologies and learning environments.

TOPICS OF INTEREST
  Original papers concerned with both theory and practice are solicited.
  The areas of interest include, but are not limited to the following:

              (1) Development and applications of Squeak and Croquet
              (2) Technologies for creating learning environments
              (3) Viewing, creating and manipulating multimedia,
                    3D and animation objects
              (4) Collaboration among users in distributed space/time

TYPES OF PAPERS
We accept both English and Japanese papers. There are the following types
  in the both cases.
               (1) Keynote and Invited papers
               (2) Regular papers (up to 5000 words)
               (3) Short papers (up to 2000 words)
               (4)Poster papers (1 page in the proceedings)


PAPER SUBMISSION
Papers will be accepted as regular, short or poster papers. Submission of poster papers is not allowed. Poster papers are selected among those submitted in regular or short paper form. Papers should be submitted by the following submission deadline.

ENGLISH SESSION PAPERS Papers (English, PDF, IEEE CS format) should be sent electronically to Program Chair Assistant,Hitomi Takada (takada [at] db.soc.i.kyoto-u.ac.jp) .

JAPANESE SESSION PAPERS Papers written in Japanese (or English) should be sent electronically to Japanese Session Chair: Tsuneo Jozen (jozen [at] mac.com).

               Camera-ready copies January 10, 2004

            Regular and Short Papers
                Paper submission November 30, 2003
                Notification of acceptance December 15, 2003
                Camera-ready copies January 10, 2004

PUBLICATION
Preliminary version of the proceedings (for both English and Japanese sessions) will be distributed during the conference. The formal version of the proceedings will be published by IEEE Computer Society Press after the conference. Invited papers, regular papers and short papers will be included in the formal proceedings. Selected poster papers and abstracts of selected papers presented at the Japanese session papers will be also
  included in the formal proceedings.

The proceedings of the first conference is available from the same publisher
  ( ISBN 0-7695-1975-X, order number : PR01975) .

TUTORIAL   Tutorial on Croquet is being planned during the conference.
